The Space:
Island Retreat unfolds across a sequence of generous, carefully crafted spaces that remain closely connected to the surrounding landscape. Sunlight moves through the home throughout the day, settling across timber, concrete, and natural textures, while full-height glazing frames views of the sea and native bush.
At the heart of the home, the main living area offers space to gather, relax, and slow down. The minimalist kitchen features premium appliances and sculpted joinery, flowing easily into the dining area for long breakfasts, shared meals, and unhurried evenings.
Five bedrooms are positioned for privacy and comfort. Four are fitted with king beds and enjoy garden or ocean outlooks, while a fifth bedroom with two sets of bunk beds provides flexible accommodation for children or additional guests. Multiple bathrooms include walk-in showers and freestanding baths, making group stays easy and relaxed.
Outdoors, the home steps down to a wide terrace with lounge and dining areas that shift naturally with the day. The swimming pool sits comfortably within the landscape as a natural extension of the living spaces. As evening arrives, the light softens across the water and the home settles into a quiet, restorative calm.
Please note the swimming pool is not heated during the winter months.

Guest Access:
Guests have full, private use of the entire home, outdoor areas, gardens, and swimming pool.
Check-in is from 2:00 pm and check-out is by 10:30 am. Early check-in or late check-out may be available for an additional fee and can be confirmed closer to arrival, subject to adjacent bookings.
The Neighborhood:
Island Retreat sits high above Oneroa, close to the village while remaining quietly removed from its daily flow. The setting feels settled and private, with native bush surrounding the home and wide views stretching across the bay. It’s calm once you’re back at the house, without feeling isolated from the island’s main amenities.
Oneroa Village is only a short drive away and offers a relaxed mix of cafés, small boutiques, and dining options. Wai Kitchen is a popular stop for morning coffee overlooking the bay. For lunch or dinner, Fenice and Vino Vino are easy, reliable choices, while The Oyster Inn is well known for seafood-focused menus and seasonal dishes, located just above Oneroa Beach.
Nearby, Mudbrick Winery is close by for long lunches, tastings, and views back toward Auckland. Beaches, coastal walks, and vineyards are all within easy reach from this part of the island, making it simple to shape days around food, swimming, and time at home. By evening, the hillside quiet returns and the house feels comfortably removed from the village below.
Getting Around:
Oneroa Village and the Matiatia ferry terminal are around a ten-minute drive from the property. If you’re exploring without a car, the nearest bus stop is about a twelve-minute walk from the house and connects directly to Oneroa, Onetangi, Palm Beach, and the island’s main vineyard routes.
For a day among the vines, buses run frequently to Tantalus Estate, Stonyridge, Casita Miro, and Wild on Waiheke, a relaxed, social way to explore without worrying about driving.
Whether by bus, car, or e-bike, everything on Waiheke feels close: beaches, vineyards, cafés, and home again by sunset.
Other Things to Note:
Like most Waiheke homes, Island Retreat runs on rainwater, so we ask guests to use it thoughtfully during their stay.
The property includes a swimming pool, which is not heated during the winter months.
Minimum stay requirements apply, seven nights from mid-December to mid-January, three nights at all other times.

Our Stay Waiheke team is available seven days a week from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm, with after-hours assistance for urgent matters.
