Welcome to Santa Ynez, where working ranches meet world class wineries. And this ranch has it all- a short bike ride/walk or 2 minute drive to Sunstone, Kalyra, and Brave & Maiden wineries. There are horses on property who will gladly accept a carrot or two as well if that’s your thing. Weekly maid service included in monthly rentals.
The property is located next to the Santa Ynez River, which is like a wildlife reserve. We named the ranch Rancho Tecolote after all the great horned owls we see (and hear) in the mature trees along the river. It is a peaceful and restorative place to take in nature and just “be.” At the same time, Santa Ynez, Solvang and Los Olivos are just about a 10 minute drive away and there are 2 fantastic markets within that range to stock up on any sundries, or gourmet items you might want. Many restaurants are nearby.
Regarding the property itself, the home is 3 bedrooms, two bathrooms. The front of the home faces a tranquil pond to sit beside in Adirondack chairs. The back of the property looks towards the Massive, French country style, Sunstone Villa. It gives a European wine country sense of place. Massive gentle lawn surrounds the home, giving plenty of safe space to play with children. Home has A/C and heat!
For animal lovers there are happily retired rescue horses (even a rescue llama) and some working horses too. Old growth oak and sycamore trees abound. The property has two porches with furniture to lounge on and sip your favorite wine. They are shady enough on the hottest days to be outside. The house has been completely remodeled and updated with stylish modern yet relaxed furnishings and hardware. There are two sitting areas in the house, one with a TV and the other is a casual hang out space to read or play your guitar if you like. The kitchen is equipped with everything you'll need- from an easy to use French Press and a Vitamix for your morning smoothie! The bedrooms are comfortable and have Avocado Natural mattresses with organic cotton bedding. Everything in the house makes you feel welcomed from the moment you step inside.
